Research Engineer
United Stated Environmental Protection Agency Office of Research and Development, Ohio, United States
Caleb Buahin is a researcher in the Water Infrastructure Division of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Research and Development (ORD). Among his research responsibilities is the maintenance and advancement of the EPA’s Stormwater Management Model (SWMM). His research is focused on advancing integrated hydrologic and hydrodynamic modeling frameworks for water systems ranging from large river reservoir/lake systems to urban collection systems. He also focuses on the intersection between these models and emerging artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) to improve the degree of fidelity and accuracy of processes represented and for optimizing the management of water systems.
Caleb obtained his BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University, Provo Utah in 2010 and his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering Utah State University, Logan Utah in 2017.
