Dr. Corinne Wiesner-Friedman is a hydrologist and microbiologist working in the Office of Research and Development (ORD) in the Center for Environmental Solutions and Emergency Response. She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. She was brought on to lead a project on the microbial quality of stormwater as a postdoctoral researcher at the EPA ORD in an ORISE capacity in 2021. In January 2023, Corinne began a full-time position with the EPA managing EPA's National Stormwater Calculator and leading research in the areas of microbial water quality for wastewater, stormwater, and surface water. She is currently involved in research spanning from ancillary benefits of green stormwater infrastructure to microbial risk of antimicrobial resistance in river networks, to methods development to increase the privacy associated with wastewater data.
