Rose is a Research Physical Scientist with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center and is a member of the Post-wildfire Flood Risk Management Program. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Arizona in geography, soils, and hydrology. She received a Ph.D in geosciences from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Rose has a background in flood management working as a hydrologist for the Pima County Flood Control District in Tucson, Arizona. More recently, she has worked for the Agricultural Research Service and at the Desert Research Institute researching soil erosion, infiltration, and runoff prediction.
