PhD Candidate in Environmental Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, specializing in Hydro-Systems. With a passion for hydrology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), data analysis and visualization, Gaurav's research focuses on studying the impacts of established dams and reservoirs on river water quantity in the Ohio River, developing methods to conduct similar studies in other locations. As a fellow at Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE), he worked on investigating the effects of El Niño/ La Niña Oscillation on streamflow as well as creating a US-wide dataset for different precipitation patterns to look into the response of flood control infrastructures. Currently Gaurav is working on making a River Network Analysis and Data Integration software package with plugin support.
