Dr. Sreetharan has 35 years of experience in watershed and floodplain modeling. She is a Senior Engineer at Dewberry in its Fairfax, VA office. She has developed and reviewed flood studies for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Flood Insurance Program. Her current studies and interests include real-time and forecast modeling, riverine climate change impacts assessment, tidal-riverine interaction modeling /forecasting, urban floodplain detection methodologies, and analyzing ice-impacted floodplains. Sreetharan holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Hertfordshire University in England.
