Dr. Nazari is the Chair and Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Memphis and holds the Charles G. Templeton Endowed Professorship. Previously, he served as Director of the Sustainable Smart Cities Research Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His expertise lies in assessing urban infrastructure damage and community vulnerability to natural disasters. His work has shaped resiliency planning in New York, New Jersey, and smaller cities. Dr. Nazari's startups, Planetary Resilience and CanAiry, have secured NSF funding.
