Dr. Danhui Xin is an environmental chemist and engineer in the Chemistry Department at SCCWRP. She specializes in black carbon (biochar) biochemistry and the fate and transport of organic compounds in natural and engineering systems. Her research interests include understanding contaminants of emerging concern (such as microplastics and PFAS) in stormwater and the elucidation of mechanisms and processes for stormwater best management practices.
She received her Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Delaware in 2021 and her M.Eng. and B.S. in environmental engineering from Tongji University in 2015 and 2012, respectively. She joined SCCWRP in 2023.
