Nidia Reyes completed her bachelor's degree in civil engineering at "Pontificia Universidad Javeriana" in Bogota, Colombia, where she also pursued her master's studies in hydrosciences. Thereafter, she graduated with a Ph.D. degree in civil and environmental engineering at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. During her Ph.D., she implemented a boundary layer code to simulate stratified turbulence at very high Reynolds number. Throughout her graduate studies and consulting experience in water resources engineering, she has developed a comprehensive understanding of CFD principles and hydrodynamic models. She has significant experience discretizing differential equations, implementing scientific software, and running large-scale numerical simulations.
