Prof Edith Zagona is a Research Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmenal and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder and Director of the Center for Advanced Decision Support for Water and Environmental Systems (CADSWES). Specializing in water resources systems and modeling, she leads a multidisciplinary team at CADSWES in the research and development of RiverWare and other decision support tools for multi-objective management of river, reservoir and hydropower systems. Research topics include operational policy analysis, collaborative decision-making under deep uncertainty, forecasting and adaptive management for climate change, and integration of hydropower and renewal energy in regional power grids. She has been collaborating with water management agencies and utilities in applying the CADSWES tools to managing river systems such as the Colorado, Rio Grande, Columbia, Tennessee Valley and dozens of others for over 30 years.
