Professor
Lamar University, United States
Dr. Xinyu Liu is a Professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lamar University. Prior to Lamar University, he was a research scientist at Microlution Inc, a startup company dedicated in developing the state-of-the-art micro-machine tools. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006. In recent years, his research interests have shifted from traditional area of manufacturing and machine design to data-driven science and engineering. He is interested in the intersection of data-driven methods, applied optimization, and the classical fields of mechanical and civil engineering. He is particularly interested in applying data-driven approach in the intelligent fault diagnosis and water quality prediction and management.
