Marios Polycarpou is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus. He is a Founding Member of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts, Honorary Professor at Imperial College London, and Member of Academia Europaea. His research focuses on intelligent systems, adaptive control, machine learning, and critical infrastructure systems. Prof. Polycarpou received the 2023 IEEE Frank Rosenblatt Technical Field Award and the 2016 IEEE Neural Networks Pioneer Award. He is an IEEE and IFAC Fellow and has served as President of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society and the European Control Association. His research has been supported by grants such as the ERC Advanced Grant, the ERC Synergy Grant and the EU-Widening Teaming program.
