Brian Wahlin, PhD, PE, BC.WRE is a vice president and senior hydraulic engineer with WEST and manages the firm’s Tempe, AZ office. Dr. Wahlin has 31 years of experience in floodplain and hydraulic studies, sediment transport studies, dam breach studies, flow measurement techniques and hydraulic laboratory studies. He serves as program manager of several work orders under on-call contracts to Pima County, the Flood Control District of Maricopa County, Pinal County Public Works Department, and the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission. Dr. Wahlin has written over 40 professional papers and reports in the fields of water resources, hydraulics, hydrology, and sedimentation engineering. He has spoken at over 30 conferences and professional meetings. He is also a lead instructor for WEST’s HEC-RAS courses that are taught throughout the country.
