Jorge Gironás holds a BS and MS in Civil Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a PhD in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica, Chile, where he teaches courses in hydrology and water systems. His research focuses on hydrology and water resources, with expertise in urban hydrology, stormwater modeling, basin morphology, extreme events, and climate change. Gironás has led numerous research projects and contributed to interdisciplinary initiatives, publishing 70 peer-reviewed papers and several key manuals and book chapters.
