Brian Bledsoe is founding director of the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems at UGA. He has over 35 years of experience as a civil engineer, hydrologist, and environmental scientist in the private and public sectors. Prior to becoming a professor, Brian worked as a consulting engineer and surveyor, and for the State of North Carolina as a watershed restoration engineer and coordinator of statewide water quality programs. Brian’s research is focused on infrastructure systems, water resources, stormwater and flood management, ecosystem restoration, and community resilience. Brian has led numerous interdisciplinary projects supported by NSF, DoD, USEPA, USDA, NCHRP, BOR, state and local governments, and private sector partners.
