Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, United States
Ellie Rothermel is PDE’s Urban Resilience Assistant Manager. In this role, she contributes to all steps in PDE’s scientific processes, from planning how to organize studies, to collecting information in the field and summarizing data for final presentation. Although Ellie mainly assists with restoration and living shorelines research, she helps facilitate wetland and shellfish data management as well. Fascinated with water and all things living in it since childhood, Ellie knew she wanted to be a scientist at an early age. She went on to get her Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Science from the University of Delaware in 2016. After spending a year in Florida honing her data management skills in estuarine environments, Ellie moved back north to embark on her Master’s degree research, studying the oceanic migrations of striped bass and Atlantic sturgeon.
