Jes Vollertsen is a Professor and Head of the Urban Pollution Research Group in the Department of the Built Environment at Aalborg University. His research focuses on urban water management, wastewater processes, and microplastic pollution. He has contributed to numerous high-impact projects, including studies on stormwater pollution, drinking water adaptation to climate change, and microplastic contamination in freshwater and marine environments. Professor Vollertsen is recognized for his leadership in environmental engineering and has earned accolades such as the Eddy Wastewater Principles/Processes Medal.
