Research Assistant
Florida International University, Florida, United States
Abbas Sharifi is a PhD researcher at Florida International University's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research focuses on the experimental and numerical simulation of storm sewer geysers, as well as the design of retrofitting systems. The primary focus of his expertise is the use of computational fluid dynamics with OpenFoam to solve environmental and biomedical problems. Additionally, he is an expert in artificial intelligence, machine learning, gene expression programming, and image processing. He has completed research papers on image processing related to neuroscience, COVID-19, breast cancer, and machine learning. He received a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the Urmia University of Technology (UUT) in 2016. He conducted research on magnetic drug targeting in blood vessels for the treatment of patients suffering from arterial stenosis and atherosclerosis as a master's thesis.
