Dr. Mitthan Lal Kansal is currently working as a Professor (HAG) in the Department of Water Resources Development & Management at IIT Roorkee. He has been Head of the Department & Associate Dean of Students Welfare. He has also served as NEEPCO and JPSS Chair Professor. He is a Civil Engineering graduate with a post-graduation in Water Resources Engineering. He has rich experience of more than 37 years as a researcher, out of which he served as a faculty member for over 33 years. He has published over 240 research papers, including 16 chapters and 7 books. He has guided more than 220 students for the post-doctoral, PhD, MTech, and BTech projects. He has carried out about 60 R&D projects. He is the recipient of a Visiting International Fellowship (VIF) of EWRI of ASCE, USA, in 2011.
