Dr. Luster-Teasley Pass is the Dean of the College of Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University. She has been a faculty member in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering since 2004. Dr. Luster-Teasley Pass specializes in environmental remediation, water sustainability, and engineering education. She is the first African American woman and first faculty member at NC A&T to receive international patents from the United States, Great Britain, and Canada for her groundbreaking development of a controlled-release chemical oxidation polymer system for water and wastewater remediation. Her technology was licensed in 2017 and is now marketed nationally as an emerging method for groundwater and soil contamination remediation. Dr. Luster-Teasley Pass' research interests include water and wastewater treatment, remediation of contaminated environments, and advancing sustainable water practices through innovative engineering education.
