ASCE Region 8 Director
Mr. Tor Anderzen has over 25 years of professional experience as a land surveyor and a civil engineer. He is a Michigan Technological University alumnus with a BS and MS in Civil Engineering. He has worked with airport planning and design since 2005 and is currently working for the Air Force in the 673 Civil Engineer Squadron at JBER in Anchorage, AK. He is a strategic leader that plans, evaluates, and develops infrastructure improvements within and across multidisciplinary teams, who also builds and maintains cooperative teaming relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Tor gives back to the community through volunteering in professional societies, STEM events for K-12, Chamber of Commerce, his church, and committee work for the Matanuska Electric Association.
Mr. Anderzen has held many positions in ASCE within the Montana and Alaska Sections. He led the 2017 and 2021 Alaska Infrastructure Report Card efforts, and served as a Region 8 Governor from October 2020 to September 2023. Mr. Anderzen serves as ASCE Region 8 Director, Matsu Branch Treasurer, and member of Committee on Americas Infrastructure, Committee on Preparing the Future Civil Engineer, and the Audit Committee. He is a school liaison for his church and serves on the MEA election committee.
Mr. Anderzen has been recognized by various organizations including the SAF/EIE and the Alaska Command Chief of Staff both in 2024 for outstanding project support and collaboration, the]673 CES outstanding civilian quarterly award in 2022. The 2018 ASCE Civil Engineering Advocate of the Year, and the ASCE Alaska Civil Engineer of the Year in 2017.
