Avi Ostfeld is a Professor in the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He is a recognized expert in the field of water resources management, with a particular focus on the analysis and optimization of water distribution systems. His research spans various areas including the security, reliability, and sustainability of multi-quality water distribution systems, as well as the application of evolutionary optimization techniques and machine learning in water resources engineering. Prof. Ostfeld has contributed extensively to the integration of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) with water resources models, and his work often addresses the challenges of equitable water distribution, system vulnerability, and operational efficiency. With numerous prestigious academic and professional appointments, Prof. Ostfeld is also a Fellow of the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) and the International Water Association (IWA), reflecting his prominent role in advancing the field globally.
