Nicholas Malasavage, PhD, PE, is the Chief of the Operations and Readiness Division for the San Francisco District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers since the fall of 2017, Nick oversees the District’s mission to provide a flood risk reduction, recreation, and natural resource management functions in the San Francisco Bay and Russian River Watershed and navigation functions in the bay, north coast, and inland. In addition, the Nick leads emergency and contingency operations within the District and supports response nationwide.
Nick began his career USACE, San Francisco District in 2011 and has served as an engineer and lead on a variety of flood risk reduction projects in the district; supported the district’s dam and levee safety program, project management and programs division; and is a technical resource to the South Pacific Division and Risk Management Center.
Nick holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph. D in Civil Engineering from Drexel University.
