Graduate Research Assistant
Villanova University, Pennsylvania, United States
Behailu Bereded is a doctoral researcher in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Villanova University, Pennsylvania, USA. He holds an advanced master’s degree from ETH Zurich in Sustainable Water Resources and a master’s in Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering from Arbaminch University, Ethiopia. Before joining the Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems, Behailu was a lecturer at Ambo University for seven years and a hydrologist for the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC) for one and a half years. Behailu’s current research focuses on Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) and understanding sediment advection in GSI systems. His work integrates physical experiments, computational modeling, and field studies to improve infrastructure design and optimize the performance of GSI systems for managing sediment transport and enhancing urban stormwater resilience.
