Musfiqur Rahman is a Doctoral researcher in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Villanova University, Pennsylvania, USA. He holds a master’s degree in Hydro informatics and Water Management through the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship program, with joint qualifications from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (FR), Newcastle University (UK), and Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (DE). Before joining the Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems, Musfiqur was involved in different projects such as urban water management, drainage system modelling, water supply modelling, water quality modelling, hydrological analysis, and environmental impact assessment etc. at Institute of Water Modelling, Bangladesh. His current research addresses the critical challenges associated with the long-term effectiveness of GSI systems by improving understanding of their life-cycle dynamics. He is developing AI-driven models that use real-time GSI monitoring data combined with social and environmental factors to enhance design and policy decisions.
