Dr. Erica Marti is an Associate Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She earned PhD and MS degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNLV and conducted postdoctoral research at the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Much of her work has focused on emerging disinfection byproducts, especially pertaining to water reuse. Current projects include understanding sources of precursors for haloacetonitriles, treatment of contaminated water using carbon-based adsorbents, surfactants as disinfection byproduct precursors, and emerging contaminants in urban water systems. She also works with K-12 educators on multiple programs focused on STEM education, engineering design, and increasing the STEM workforce.
