Graduate Research Assistant
Morgan State University, Maryland, United States
Nicholas Christos Miwornunyuie is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Morgan State University for a doctoral degree in Sustainable Resilient and Infrastructure Engineering. Over the years my research interest has been focused on exploring sustainable nature based solutions to wastewater infrastructure and environmental issues. Over the years I have been exploring the development of bioelectrochemical cells (BES) as a sustainable solution for waste and wastewater. I have contributed towards developing microbial desalination cells (MDC) and microbial fuel cell (MFC) for simultaneously treating industrial wastewater, desalinating brackish water, and generating bio-electricity. My doctoral work currently focuses on the integration of constructed wetlands with microbial fuel cells for simultaneous wastewater treatment and energy generation. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) bio-electrochemical systems.
