Abigail is a PhD Candidate in the Hydrology program at Colorado School of Mines. She has worked as an environmental manager and researcher in industry, government, and academia and plans a career in water quality improvement through river engineering at the intersection of water quality green infrastructure research and policy development. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science at Louisiana State University, where she wrote her honors ungraduated thesis, “Impacts of Bioturbation on Radiocarbon Dating in The Western Ross Sea, Antarctica.” She earned her Master’s of Science in Hydrogeology at Illinois State University where she wrote her thesis, “Natural Nitrate Removal in Shallow Subsurface Stream Flows,” and co-authored the 2021 Hydrology publication “The Effectiveness of an Artificial Floating Wetland to Remove Nutrients in an Urban Stream: A Pilot-Study in the Chicago River, Chicago, IL USA.”
