Ecohydrologist
cbec ecoengineering, United States
As an ecohydrologist at cbec, Megan Casey supports hydrological and hydraulic modeling efforts on a range of restoration projects. At Indiana’s Purdue University, Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering, with a focus in environmental and natural resources engineering. During her internship at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management she honed her passion for ecological engineering through biological surveys of streams across the state and developed her field skills with habitat quality, water quality, fish, and macroinvertebrate population assessments as well as fish population sampling via electrofishing. During her time at cbec, Megan has developed hydrologic and hydraulic models in urban, agricultural, and forested settings, that have ranged in size from only a few miles long, to hundreds of square miles. She has also supported field surveying efforts and habitat suitability analyses for salmonids, waterfowl, and amphibians. Her software experience includes HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, ArcGIS, MATLAB, and R.
