Clara Medina is a 2nd year Civil & Environmental Engineering PhD student in the Osman Lab at Stanford University. Her research focuses on equitable, green stormwater infrastructure development through the incorporation of community voices to guide the design process. She graduated with High Honors from the University of California, Merced, earning her B.S. in Environmental Engineering and was nominated as the top student in the department. Her undergraduate research was concentrated in the water sector, spanning from environmental justice research for wastewater-based epidemiology to understanding the economic impacts of drought in California. She was a UC LEADS scholar, and spent time at the UC San Diego Scripps Institution of Oceanography researching the economic implications of saltwater intrusion along the CA Pajaro Valley. She hopes to continue her work to advance adaptive planning in California for a more resilient future.
