I currently hold the title of Distinguished Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at National Taiwan University (NTU). I received a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and two M.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics and Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Prior to moving to Taiwan, I was a tenured Associate Professor in the Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering department at UB. I have taken on leadership roles in various technical committees, serving as the Chair of the Sedimentation Committee and the Probabilistic Approaches Committee at ASCE and as President of the Chinese American Water Resources Association.
