Louis Poirier studies urban flooding within the Ocean, Coastal and River Engineering Research Centre of the National Research Council of Canada. Louis completed his PhD at the University of Calagry in 2011 and has had 4 main research focuses in his over 20 year career including photonics, sports performance, ice interaction with structures and urban flooding. Louis joined the NRC in 2011 and since 2020 his focus has been on urban flooding, specifically studying catch basin performance and residential adaptations for flood resiliency.
